Discussion about home physiotherapy care

Reimbursement and medical prescription

Home physiotherapy is generally covered by basic health insurance (LAMal) when prescribed by a doctor, subject to your insurance conditions, deductible and co-payment.

Home care is particularly suitable when travel is difficult, especially after surgery, in case of reduced mobility, significant pain, fatigue, advanced age or a medical situation that justifies it.

Medical prescription

Required for reimbursement under LAMal.

Home treatment justification

Home treatment must be stated on the medical prescription.

Accident

Care is also possible if the patient is unable to travel to a clinic.

If in doubt

Check with your doctor or your insurance provider.
